Writer and Director
Etienne Fourie

Etienne published his first short story at the age of sixteen for the ATKV national creative writing school and competition under guidance of Prof. Hans du Plessis (Die Griekwa Psalms) and for a second time a year later. His short story, "Die Kloosterkoeke", was adapted into a play by "Affies" for an annual culture festival. Etienne became the first student playwright at his high school to write numerous other stage productions over a three-year period.

Etienne received his honours degree in directing from AFDA, and has directed numerous short films and music videos, including Wrestlerish and Zonernaam, winner of the 2010 MK Rockspaaider Competition. Etienne's adverts include Sleeping Children Around the World (nominated for a 2011 Loerie Award) and Ster-Kinekor's Vision Mission. Etienne received both the Best Director and Best Screenplay awards at the 2011 AFDA awards as well as a 2012 student Oscar nomination for "Die Windpomp".
Chris Roland

In 1995 Chris emigrated from the US to South Africa citing "No extradition treaty!" as his motivation. He has since become a major player in the South African entertainment industry.

Chris has been involved in a diverse range of films and TV, including Charlie Jade, Hotel Rwanda, Stander, Three Needles, Man to Man, Tunnel Rates, Darfur, Clifton Shores, Our House, and commercials for clients such as Texaco, Grolsch and Met Life. Projects and companies Chris has been involved in have achieved both critical and financial success, and have won or been nominated for Oscar, Golden Globe, Toronto People's Choice, DGA, and Genie.
Executive Producer
Lee-Ann Cotton

Lee-Ann Cotton holds a degree in Drama from the University of Cape Town (UCT). She went on to pursue further studies in the Netherlands at the Nederlandse Akademie voor die Kunsten, in the discipline of documentary filmmaking. After graduating, she returned to South Africa and worked in news and current affairs at ETV. She has an award-winning documentary under her name "Saturdays are for the Dead".

She is now involved in feature films and co-owner of ZenHQ Films.

Lee-Ann and Anna-Lynne met at film school in Amsterdam and became best friends.

Their friendship has stood the test of time and continents and they're confident will survive the test of working together as well.

Anna-Lynne Marais

Anna-Lynne E. Marais studied BA.VC (HONS) Information Design at the Arts Faculty of the University of Pretoria, graduating in 1994 followed by a Bachelor degree in "Interactive Multimedia / Visual Effects" at the Netherlands Film and Television Academy, a faculty of the "Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten", which she completed in January 2004.

She has been a multiple finalist at the prestigious "Sasol New Signatures Art Competition".

While studying at the film school in Amsterdam Anna-Lynne and Lee-Ann met, which was the initial spark of a lifelong connection and a dear friendship.

Anna-Lynne is an artist, multimedia/graphic designer, interior decorator, art director and photographer and is now cutting her teeth in the world of filmmaking.
Associate Producer
Wayne Kriel

Wayne took to producing like a rat to cheese after graduating with honors from film school. He was always interested in the bigger picture, involving himself in other productions outside film school. This mindset got him to producing the feature length documentary Finding Madiba in Los Angeles for the BBC, working alongside award winning director Brent Rumble from Brookes Institute of Film. The next year he continued his passion and started producing music videos, winning the MK Rockspaaider competition with director Etienne Fourie. A short stint at Jupiter Drawing Room Utopia saw Wayne producing adverts with Jade Mulvaney.

Wayne has completed his honors degree in producing. Upon graduating, ZenHQ Films held out a piece of cheese, and Wayne took the bait!
Director of Photography
Johan Prinsloo

In 2005 Johan enrolled for a degree in Graphic Design at the Open Window School of Visual Communication Design in Pretoria. Here he discovered his passion for photography, and wanting to take it to a new level, Johan completed his Honours degree in Motion Picture Medium, majoring in cinematography at AFDA Cape Town.

Johan has shot numerous short films and music videos for bands including Wrestlerish, The Great Apes, The Newspapers, and the 2010 MK Rockspaaider winners Zondernaam, and has gripped and gaffed for various production companies. Adverts he has shot include Sleeping Children Around The World (nominated for a 2011 Loerie Award) and Ster-Kinekor's Vision Mission. Johan received the award for Best Cinematography at the 2011 AFDA awards for "Die Windpomp", which is nominated for a 2012 student Oscar.
Production Designer
Andrew McCarthy

Andrew has worked as set-decorator on a number of major Hollywood films, including "Safe House" and "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol". He has also recently completed work on "3 Pegs" as Production Designer.
Costume Designer
Azell Bartizal

Azell graduated in March 2011 with a degree in Motion Picture Medium from AFDA, specialising in Costume, Make-up and Styling, as well as Acting. She has since then worked on numerous local and international projects including Judge Dredd, Chronicle, Heart and Soul and adverts for brands including Chicken Licken, Castle Light and Ceres.

Azell will not only be reprising her role as Costume, Make-up and Styling artist on Die Windpomp, but also her role as the younger version of Tannie Miggie.
Film Editor
Mario Kowarz

Mario received his honours degree in directing from AFDA and has edited, written and directed several short films and music videos.

Mario's editing projects include numerous short films and a music video for Zondernaam (2010 winner of the MK Rockspaaider competition).

Mario has directed a number of short films, including Walter – a 24 minute short film screened at the Durban International Film Festival, and selected for the 35th Recontres Henri Langlois Festival in France. He has also directed numerous music videos (Wrestlerish, The Newspapers) as well as a commercial for Ster-Kinekor's Vision Mission.
Armand Greyling

Given the response to his debut in "Die Windpomp", Armand is destined to be the screens next heartthrob, leading to mass stardom, fast women, too much peppermint schnapps, and eventual decline into debauchery – not really! Armand's first stage performance was in 2007 where he played a small role as a teacher in Boelies. The theatre production came 5th in South Africa. In 2008 and 2009 he won the award for best actor and performer in his school, where he was also deputy head-boy. He started singing and playing guitar in 2009.

Armand is currently working at Stardust Theatre Dining Restaurant, and also pursuing his dream as a singer. In 2010, Armand enrolled at AFDA to break away from theatre and get into film acting. So far most of the films he's acted in were in the top 5 of his year – what a show off!
Leandie du Randt

Leandie du Randt is an energetic, passionate, and determined individual with an endless amount of appreciation for life. She works as an actress, presenter, model, voice artist and MC and loves entertaining people. Some of her experience includes 4 seasons of the renowned Afrikaans series on KyKnet Getroud Met Rugby where she played the role of Mieke.

Movie credits include Egoli-The Movie, Susanna van Biljon, Semi-Soet, Klein Karoo and the short film Drukkersbloed. Her most recent work includes the new Afrikaans series Vlug na Egipte, the sitcom Moeggeploeg and the new Afrikaans feature film Die Windpomp all to be released in 2013.
Tannie Marietjie
Marga van Rooy

Funny lady, Marga, holds two BA degrees and an honors degree in Drama (cum laude) from the University of Pretoria. She started her acting career with PACT in 1960 and has performed for all the performing arts councils. She was nominated for acting prizes on numerous occasions and in 1995 won the national FNB VITA award for the best playwright based on her debut play Die Pakkamer.

Marga also won a Vita for best supporting actress in Die Groot Wit Roos by Pieter Fourie . From 1996-2000 she played the role of Ella in the popular TV sitcom Vetkoekpaleis. Since then she has toured throughout the country with various one-woman shows like Wat is 'n huis sonder Worsie se moeder? Marga was also cast in 2009 as "Ma" in the film Karate Kalie.

Marko van der Colff

Marko is a South African actor best known for his roles in the Afrikaans television series "Arende", and the feature films "Die Storie van Klara Viljee", "Paljas" and "Kaalgat Tussen die Daisies".
Dr. Rossouw
Ian Roberts

Ian Roberts is a South African actor, playwright and singer best known to television viewers for his roles in the drama series Arende and Snitch, and as the character Boet in a series of long-running advertisements for Castrol motor oil.

In addition to series television, Roberts has also acted in a number of mini-series and made-for-TV movies including A Private Life (1989), Daisy de Melker (1993), Rhodes (1996), Inside (1996), Mandela and de Klerk (1997), Black Velvet Band (1997), Efterträdaren (1999), King Solomon's Mines (2004), Coup! (2006) and Crossroads (2006).

Roberts also has an extensive movie resume. Tannie Miggie
Grethe Fox

Grethe fox has worked as a leading actress in over 60 theatre productions, 10 television dramas, 18 television series and 9 feature films. She studied at UCT Drama School & the Jacques le Coq Theatre and Mime school in Paris. Grethe Fox has received over 16 nominations for theatre performances including a Vita Award for her role in Women in the Wings and has been awarded 6 Best Actress Awards for her work in film & television.

Grethe has starred in many productions, including Madonna in Boklied, Nasha in Reza de Wet's Drie Susters II and Goue Seun. In 1998 Grethe won an Avanti Television Award for her performance in Onder Draai die Duiwel Rond. She appears as Karen in the popular series Soul City. Grethe will be remembered for her performance as Erna Dorfmann in the Fourth Reich for which she received the Artes, Tonight & M Net Awards.

Grethe appeared in the British film Merlin the return and in the German film Malundi and she recently completed Platinum.

She more recently appeared in MNet's series Snitch and Katinka Heyns' series, Amalia & Amalia II as well as guest artist on Isidingo.
